How to compare Korean cosmetics wholesale quotes
Compare wholesale quotations on the same product, quantity, currency, and delivery scope before comparing unit prices. A lower unit price can lead to a higher stated subtotal once freight is included, and a missing charge is not a zero charge.
Make the two quotations comparable first
| Check | What must match or be clarified |
|---|---|
| Product identity | Brand, full product name, size, shade, and packaging variant. |
| Quantity | Units per SKU, cases, case size, and any quantity revisions caused by minimums. |
| Currency | Currency and the date or rate used if converting currencies. |
| Price scope | Which charges are included, excluded, or still estimated. |
| Delivery scope | The agreed dispatch or handover point and who arranges each transport stage. |
| Order conditions | Availability, quotation validity, payment conditions, and any agreed shelf-life requirement. |
Worked example: lower unit price, higher stated subtotal
Illustrative examples only. All brands, quantities, prices, and conditions in the examples below are fictional. They are not Fresh Vibe minimums, quotations, inventory, or offers.
Assume both fictional quotations cover the same product and variant, 120 units, USD currency, and the same transport scope. No currency conversion is needed.
| Line item | Quotation A | Quotation B |
|---|---|---|
| Units | 120 | 120 |
| Unit price | USD 4.00 | USD 4.30 |
| Goods total | 120 × USD 4.00 = USD 480 | 120 × USD 4.30 = USD 516 |
| Quoted freight for the same scope | USD 90 | USD 40 |
| Goods plus quoted freight | USD 570 | USD 556 |
| Other charges | Not established in this example | Not established in this example |
Quotation A has the lower unit price, but quotation B has a goods-plus-freight subtotal USD 14 lower. This comparison does not establish the final landed cost: duties, taxes, insurance, handling, and other applicable charges have not been determined. If the freight scopes differ, the subtotals are not directly comparable.
How to handle a blank or estimated charge
Mark it “not confirmed” rather than recording zero. Ask who is responsible for the charge, what it covers, whether it is an estimate, and when the amount can be confirmed. Keep that uncertainty visible in your comparison.
Minimums can change your actual basket
If one supplier quotes full cases while another permits a different purchasing unit, compare the actual units you would buy rather than your original target alone. A larger basket can tie up more money even when its unit price is lower. See the MOQ, MOV, and case-pack examples →
Questions to ask before confirming an order
- Does this quote cover the exact products and quantities requested?
- Which prices and costs are confirmed, and which remain estimates?
- What delivery point and transport responsibilities does it cover?
- How long are the quoted terms valid, and is availability confirmed?
- Which payment, documentation, and product requirements are agreed in writing?
